Climate Action

Our Climate Future is the City's guide to help Fort Collins reduce pollution and waste and adapt to climate change. It focuses on people's daily needs. City Council approved OCF in 2021 after lots of community input.

Our Climate Goals

Our Climate Future focuses on three main goals by 2030:

1. Climate Pollution: Cut greenhouse gas pollution by 80% from 2005 levels.
2. Renewable Electricity: 100% renewable electricity from the grid and local sources.
3. Zero Waste: Reach zero waste so nothing goes to landfills. Materials are reused, recycled or composted instead.

Big Moves and Next Moves

Our Climate Future outlines 13 Big Moves based on community priorities and setting a vision for sustainable Fort Collins. They focus on reaching community goals through work led by the City, community, or both working together.

Next Moves are specific actions and strategies to reach the Big Moves. Each Big Move has several Next Moves.
